The Honorary Sir Oliver Bury Popplewell is Anna's 77-year old grandfather. He is a former High Court Judge who "In his time on the bench Sir Oliver was one of the two High Court Judges assigned to deal with libel matters. He therefore dealt with a great many of the high profile cases coming before the Queen's Bench Division."Besides his work credentials, Sir Oliver was also on the Cambridge cricket team as a wicketkeeper, and holds the record as the oldest freshmen in the history of Oxford University! At age 76, he went back and studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Sir Oliver has written a published book of memoirs dealing with everything from his childhood to interesting cases in the court room! Anna's father, Andrew John Popplewell is one of four boys. He works as a lawyer as a silk at the Brick Court Chambers. He has been called "clear, organised and persuasive", "extremely sound, commercially intelligent and good on his feet",
"very bright and excellent to deal with", and "calm, clever and cheerful" by his colleagues. As for Anna, she notes that seeing her father at work realizes how lucky she is to still be in school, she thinks she has lots of school work but its nothing compared to her fathers'!
Anna's mother, Debra Lomas Popplewell, has been an immunologist of paediatric dermatology at GOSH for 14 years. She also participates in the St. Bride's church, where she was a churchwarden from 2003-2005.Their role is to represent the laity, to maintain order in the church and churchyard, to be responsible for the goods and ornaments of the church, and to co-operate with the incumbent in promoting the mission of the church. They are chosen at the annual meeting of parishioners, and serve for a period of up to six years.

Anna's younger sister, Laura Francesca - "Lulu" for short, was born on January 15th, 1991. She is an actress herself, appearing in "Love, Actually" as Daisy in 2003, and as Emma alongside Anna in "Love in a Cold Climate" in 2001. She is also the voice of Lyra Belacqua in the His Dark Materials book recordings. Lulu is a normal teenager who enjoys hanging with friends, going to parties, and concerts etc. Anna says she doesn't know whether Lulu will continue acting, she is a "very witty/contraversial journalist for our alternative school paper".

Anna's younger brother Frederick - "Freddie" was born November 1994. He is a red-haired, blue-eyed, freckled boy, and enjoyed starring in 2003's "Peter Pan" as Michael Darling. Currently Freddie attends The Hall school in Hampstead, and according to Anna is "seriously sporty", his favorites including soccer and cricket.
